iDoodling
Have been bored tearless lately, so I tried out the Xpress on my iPhone and did my first "finger-doodling". My big fat finger was not the easiest tool to maneuver but somehow I got it done. Tadada! It's not a self-portrait, by all means, no. LOL

A promise is a promise
I can't remember exactly when, probably during the time I was working on the froggy project, I sort of mentioned it to my niece and "promised" to make a set for her and her brother. So, nearly three weeks passed and her ever so forgetful aunt forgot the "promise"...

Domestic Diva in the making... NOT
Eva's birthday is coming up. And, I just realise that my DH and I have taken more than 700 photos of the baby. I'm ever so grateful to whoever incorporated the camera into the mobile phone and the inventor of the phone memory card. Okay, my point is, if not of these modern day convenience, I would have no idea where to store that many photos of the baby. But again, I wouldn't have taken that many photos in the first place without this handy mobile phone camera.
Though the photos are stored in the memory card, we need to do something about them, like sort and store them in a easily retrivable manner, or may be beautify them? The idea of scrapbooking come to mind. I have to admit that whenever I saw or heard the word "scrapbooking", I used to picture an old lady sitting by and sorting through a table piled with papers, stickers, scissors and photos. Well, now I've become that old lady...
So, I'm cultivating a new hobby now, on top of the sewing. Don't you think that I'm becoming more and more domesticated? hehehe...

What I have been up to this holiday...
Bought some craft books quite a while back and they have been left to collect dust, until I picked them up one day while cleaning up the room. I came across a doggie plush toy in one of the books and I like it very much. The thought of a handsewn toy for Christmas sounded wonderful and it kind of lingered around long enough for me to take it seriously. So, I started my first sewing project one Saturday afternoon while the baby was having a nap. On and off it took me three days to finish the project.
I used my old t-shirt and jeans, as well as a pair of new socks that I don't think I will ever wear. As for the filling, I used the old polyfill from a cushion. It's good practice to use recycled materials and reduce waste. :D
Since it was my first sewing project, my work didn't turn out quite perfect. But again, that's the beauty of handcrafted stuffs, right? They're supposed to be one-of-a-kind, aren't they? Hahaha... Anyway, I'm so happy to see something from paper turning into a real toy. I couldn't wait until Christmas to give the toy to baby... and have been very show-off with it. ...hehehe...
I guess my baby is a bit too young to know how to play with a plushie, as the first thing she did when she got hold of the toy was pounding it on any surface she could find and shook it =.= ... poor little doggie... And, she still does it, sigh! Well, I take it as she likes the lil doggie her mommy made for her. :P
I get sort of hooked on to the sewing and so I made a pair of bootleg jeans for the lil doggie. So proud of myself now, wahahaha!
By the way, her name is Snow Pea. :)
